Seniors, nursing students celebrate collaboration

     PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Northern Maine Community College honored Aroostook County senior citizens who volunteered for a nursing program initiative at a celebratory tea held recently on the NMCC campus.

Thayer and Caudill lead Viking matmen at home meet

 Nine of the 11 members took home medals in competition

     The Caribou Vikings were the home team for the first of the two wrestling matches they are scheduled to host this season, as Schenck of East Millinocket, Washington Academy of East Machias, Dexter, Bucksport, Hermon, PCHS of Guilford, PVHS of Howland, Woodland and Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln all made the trip north.

New co-op swim team victorious in first meet season

     PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The opening meet was a good one for the newly-formed Carlisle swim team as it topped Washington Academy in both the girls’ and boys’ competitions Saturday at UMPI’s Gentile Hall pool.

Grade 8 boys’ team splits pair of games

     The Caribou eighth-grade boys’ basketball team lost a league game to Houlton last Tuesday before bouncing back to stop Central Aroostook Saturday.
