In a recent piece in Viewpoints, entitled, “If I woke up in a place called Lyndon, I’d move home to Caribou”, Mr. John Albert-Murchison summed up his emotional argument against the Caribou secession with a philosophy of life that consists of “making do and calling it good.” By way of full disclosure, he is also the brother of Ken Murchison, who was the previous mayor of Caribou for 12 years.
As the Second Regular Session of the 127th Maine Legislature gets underway, I am reminded of what a tremendous honor it is for me to serve the people of Caribou in the Maine House of Representatives.

You’d think that by now, in the year 2016, we would have gotten rid of all discrimination. But recently I’ve noticed a trend by some businesses to extend favoritism to some customers, while charging regular prices to other customers. I’m talking specifically here of discrimination against those who are not technologically savvy, or those who do not own or have access to the Internet.
With the new snow that we have received and the anticipation that we will get more over the weekend, snowmobiling in the Crown of Maine is shaping up quite nicely. There are still a lot of projects reporting water holes. They are marked but caution is advised.

Large haul — Last week, G.C. Hall’s team and L.B. Hall’s team each hauled a 7,000-pound load of pulp wood. The horses of each team weighed about 1,100 each. Fourteen thousand pounds hauled four miles with four horses is quite a record.
