January: Honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

     Each January, we celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the greatest and most influential figures in American history. A scholar, activist, and minister, Dr. King personified love and unity in the face of entrenched hate and institutional discrimination. His message of nonviolent protest forced us as a country to recognize our imperfect past and mobilized the masses across America to join the push for equality and justice.

Biathlon makes NY Times list

     PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Officials with the International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup 8, set for Aroostook County in early February, have reported The New York Times has named the coming event among the top sporting events of 2016.

Brian’s Ride New Year’s Eve Bash tops $8,500

     Friends and family of the late Brian Caldwell along with some 100 New Year’s revelers gathered at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center on New Year’s Eve for the Brian’s Ride New Year’s Eve Bash. The event raised more than $8,500 for Brian’s Ride, a fund benefiting cancer patients managed by the Jefferson Cary Foundation.
