Vikes just miss state meet berth, FF moves on

     BANGOR — The Caribou Vikings fell just short of qualifying for the Feb. 6 state championships in Class B, while Fort Fairfield was able to get there in the ‘D’ ranks.

Bartlett, Smith key PI in alpine meet

     Skiers got to stay in the area last week, with a Nordic meet Thursday at Presque Isle’s Nordic Heritage Center and an alpine meet at Bigrock Ski Area in Mars Hill Saturday.

The marathon is coming, be a part of the experience

     On Sept. 18, 2016, Caribou is going to host the first Caribou Marathon. Have you signed up yet? There are some options for race day, that will be here in a few short months. There will be a relay which could consist of up to eight people, a half marathon relay option, a half marathon (a great distance and should prove to be a great run) and the full marathon, which will be a 26.2-mile adventure through the great city of Caribou.

P.I. man gets 37 months for selling bath salts

     BANGOR, Maine — A federal judge recently sentenced a Presque Isle man to 37 months in federal prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute bath salts in Aroostook County between January 2012 and September 2013.

FORT KENT, Maine — Last year, the college ranking service CollegeChoice.net listed the University of Maine at Fort Kent as the 45th most affordable online college for bachelor’s degrees, and in a single year UMFK has advanced 20 positions to the 25th place, according to the group’s latest rankings.
