     AUGUSTA — Spring job fair season is beginning to take shape around Maine, providing an opportune time for job seekers looking for work. Celebrating the people and communities of our area

     The Central Aroostook Chamber would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation of the communities that we serve. We recently held our annual Awards Dinner where Dixie Shaw, Donald R. Bouley and Pineland Farms Potato Company were recognized for their contribution to improving the lives of others in the area and beyond.

So many cats and so little time

     To the editor:

     This is the time of year of frostbite, coyote bites, broken legs and every other kind of illness or injury that will mean sheer torture for homeless cats and kittens for all homeless animals. Recently Halfway Home Pet Rescue took in four orphaned kittens who were only about 2 1/2 weeks old, very dehydrated, starved and ill. No one seemed to know or care about what had happened to the mother. Even with instant vet care we still lost two of the babies.
