The Presence Radio Network, Maine’s only Catholic radio network, will hold the “Light in the Darkness” pledge drive March 9-12 to raise money for the network’s seven radio stations across the state, including locally in Presque Isle and Fort Kent. The Presence is a non-profit, non-commercial, independent lay apostolate that relies on the gifts of listeners as a crucial funding source.
Students from the University of Maine at Fort Kent and the University of Maine at Presque Isle will gather for a unique political debate between UMFK’s College Republicans and UMPI’s College Democrats on Friday, March 11, from 5-7 p.m. in the Fox Auditorium at UMFK.

The town of Limestone’s Selectpeople will vote to approve new rules for Trafton Lake regarding the usage of ATVs on the campground during their Wednesday, March 2 meeting at the town office at 6:30 p.m. The proposed rules may apply to golf carts in addition to four-wheelers, dirt bikes, and other all-terrain vehicles.

Party officials in northern Maine have established dates, times and places for their caucuses to help choose the next president of the United States. There will also be other candidates running for office. Voters can also sign petitions to help them qualify for the ballot, and hear speeches from party leaders at the local, state and federal levels.
