Caribou Tech students complete round of workspace improvements

     CARIBOU, Maine — The welding and metal fabrication program at the Caribou Technology Center just completed a second round of renovations of their workspace this year, almost doubling the number of students that can be served in the instructional program.

1966: New high school and gym taking shape

115 Years Ago — May 1, 1901

     Down the river — S.W. Collins and Son have 110,000 railroad ties, 500,000 cedar and 100,000 spruce, in the boom on Beaver Brook, to be driven to Caribou as soon as the other drives have gone down the Aroostook River.

     New clerk — Edgar Russ arrived from Reading, Mass., Thursday of last week and is now clerking in Hardison and Pelchier’s furniture store on Sweden Street.

Making a difference in our community one child at a time

To the editor:

     Throughout our community, our county, our state and our country, there are children living apart from their families due to many reasons including physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and substance abuse. For some of these children, the removal from their home is as traumatic as the abuse itself.

Taking those walls down one brick at a time

     Smashing into a brick wall can be painful whether with your body, car, or in your genealogical research. Hitting a brick wall in genealogy means you cannot seem to advance further with your research. You may feel you’ve tried everywhere and the information you need just doesn’t exist.
