50 Years Ago – July 23, 1969
New Book — A new book by Mrs. Kidney describes living in Allagash. Mrs. Kidney and her husband, Milford, who had lived in Houlton from 1938 to 1941, have been living in a one-room camp in the Allagash Region for 12 years, spring, summer and fall. The many experiences of living in such a remote place have been recorded in her new book, ‘Away From it All.’
Silver wedding anniversary — Mr. and Mrs. Stuart L. Lenentine were honored on their 25th wedding anniversary at their home with an open house given by their daughter, Mrs. Sandra Roy. The couple was married by the Rev. H.L. Kennedy at Houlton on July 17, 1944. They have resided in Monticello and have four children.
