Memorial gate constructed at New Sweden Thomas Park — As a memorial to all military veterans of New Sweden, that community has constructed a monument gate at the entrance of Thomas Park there which stands as a vivid reminder of indebtedness to that war group.

Caribou man named to head county bankers — At a meeting of nearly 150 members of the Aroostook Bankers Association in Houlton Wednesday, J. Franklin Anderson, treasurer of Caribou’s Aroostook Trust company, was elected new president of the organization.

Computer lab to open to the public — In an effort to meet the needs of children, their families and community members, the Caribou Adult Education Program is opening its computer labs for the first time to the public so that all local residents have access to computers and the Internet.
