     New quarters — The Houlton Meat Supply opened up in their new location Monday and were ready for business, although not settled. The store is conveniently arranged, light, airy and pleasant, and will be a handy place to trade.

     Improvement — J.E. Robinson Company has added a new and up-to-date street peanut and popcorn machine, which will be a great improvement over the one formerly used.

     Accepted as instructor — Miss Dorothy Lyons has been accepted by the Chautauqua community as instructor of the children’s department and after the closing of the schools will be assigned to one of their circuits.

     Main Street block sold — The second important transfer that has taken place in the last few days was Monday when T. V. Holdaway and Ray L. Young purchased from John A. Tenney the McLeod store, so called, and this too is a valuable piece of property.

     Tractor School — Are you getting the service from your tractor or engine which the manufacturer intended it to furnish? Whether you are or not it will pay you to arrange to attend a tractor school which will be held at the store of the Putnam Hardware Company.

The Putnam-Ervin Company has been organized at Houlton, to conduct a general real estate business with a capital stock of $60,000, all of which is common stock; nothing paid in; par value, $100; shares subscribed, 600; directors, Lee W. Irvin, (president), Arthur O. Putnam, (treasurer), Fred L. Putnam, Houlton. This cooperation was organized for the purpose of conducting the interests of the Frisbie Block, so called, which the above gentlemen purchased last week.

     Returned home — Harold L. Cates has returned home from a two weeks trip to Boston and New York during which time he attended a get-together meeting of the Willard Storage Battery Company.
