New streetlights — Three new streetlights have been placed on Broadway during the past week, on the corner of Limestone street near the B. & A. crossing, and it is useless to add that they will be appreciated by residents of that section of the village.

Several changes being made — C. P. Hussey is making several changes in the interior of his store, putting in a large number of shelves which will be filled with Edison records. Mr. Hussey is recognized headquarters for Edison phonographs and supplies.

Having a sale — J.C. McGrath is having a remarkable good sale on his Mic-Mac cigar — the leading 5-cent brand of the county. In one day last week he sold $500. He steadily employs a force of four hands, and it is hard work to keep up to the orders.

Sold the farm — Edgar W. Russ has sold his farm, perhaps better known as the Harris place, to Fred Blackstone of Washburn. This is considered to be one of the finest farms in this section, and is only two miles from the village.

Hat buying trip — Miss Evelyn Fisher made a business trip to Boston Wednesday night and will return Friday morning. While there she will select a new lot of hats which will arrive at her store Saturday, Oct. 19.

Under new management — The local business of the American Express Company, which has been under the charge of its regular agent, H.D. Collins, since the advent of the B. & A. into Caribou, is now under the charge of Mr. Hazleton of Dexter, a representative of the company.

Returning from New York — Mrs. M. Frances Shaw will return this week from New York and Boston, where she has been to attend the openings of the leading hat shops. Mrs. Shaw, being unable to meet the demand of the public herself, will bring with her MIss Minnie Norton, who comes highly recommended, as a trimmer.
