Town appreciates correspondent’s efforts

To the editor:
The Easton Board of Selectman and the residents of Easton would like to express our sincere thanks and heart-felt appreciation for Eldora Carter’s years of service as the Easton correspondent to the Star-Herald. Folks from home and away have enjoyed keeping up with the local happenings through her column for the last 30 years.
This is no small feat in keeping an entire community up to date as to “what’s happening” in our great town. Many people, we are told, open the Star-Herald and read “Easton News” first before reading the rest of the paper. Eldora’s dedication and commitment to our Town and its residents has always been evident from her written words, sentiments and good will.
“A great time was had by all” has been Eldora’s tagline for many years and will not be forgotten by any of us. There are doers and takers in this world and she is ahead in this class, as a doer. We are happy that she has represented the town so wisely over the years and we will always consider her a dear friend and outstanding resident of the Town of Easton.
We are very proud of Eldora for having contributed in such a positive way in making Easton a better place to live. In addition, persons from other surrounding towns have been able to read her column – our news- and understand why it’s good to be from Easton.
Thanks again to Eldora for her dedicated commitment to “our TOWN” over the past three decades, she has set the ethical bar high and we wish her the best of luck in the future.
