BANGOR, Maine — The Maine Recreation and Parks Association’s Future Stars state track and field meet was held July 14, 2015 at Cameron Stadium and a number of athletes from the region enjoyed excellent performances.
Girls taking first-place in their respective events were Ashlyn Bouchard of Caribou in the 11-12 year-old 100-meter dash (15.8 seconds), Anna Jandreau of Caribou in the ages 11-12 400-meter dash (1:17.8) and 1,600-meter run (6:51.67), Madelyn Deprey of Caribou in the ages 7-8 800-meter run (3:33.92), Anna Finelli of Caribou in the ages 9-10 400-meter dash (1:30.21), Marienna St. Peter of Caribou in the ages 11-12 800-meter run (3:23.49), Jessica Halsey of Fort Fairfield in the ages 13-14 800-meter run (2:50.82) and the girls’ 13-14 400-meter dash (1:11.81), Emma Hixon of Caribou in the ages 13-14 softball throw (105 feet, 3 inches), Skyler Oakes of Fort Fairfield in the ages 7-8 standing long jump (5 feet, 5 inches) and Meghan Schupbach of Fort Fairfield in the ages 11-12 standing long jump (6 feet, 2 inches).
The 4×100-meter relay team of Deprey, Madelyn Cote, Abby Haney and Lauren Lister also placed first for Caribou in 1:22.23.
Also placing either second or third in their respective individual events from the region were Deprey in the 50-meter dash and the softball throw, Hixon in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, Jaiden Jones of Caribou in the 11-12 1,600-meter run, Bouchard in the 400-meter dash and standing long jump, Gwen Anderson of Caribou in the ages 7-8 800-meter run, Camryn Ala of Fort Fairfield in the ages 11-12 800-meter run and softball throw, Kyla Cunningham of Washburn in the ages 13-14 800-meter run, Lister in the 200-meter dash and standing long jump and Daryl Freeman of Caribou in the ages 11-12 softball throw
For boys, first-place finishers from the area were Ari Plante of Caribou in the ages 11-12 1,600-meter run (6:40.32), Jordan Duplissie of Caribou in the ages 11-12 400-meter dash (1:15.32) and the 800-meter run (2:56.73), Mason St. Peter of Caribou in the ages 9-10 800-meter run (3:06.31), Colby Langner of Fort Fairfield in the ages 13-14 softball throw (140 feet, 10 inches), Malcolm Langner of Fort Fairfield in the age 15 softball throw (150 feet, 7 inches) and 400-meter dash (1:08.72), Micah Daigle of Fort Fairfield in the ages 9-10 standing long jump (6 feet, 4 inches) and Landen Leavitt of Fort Fairfield in the ages 7-8 400-meter dash (1:30.8).
In the 4×100 relay, the Fort Fairfield team of Leavitt, Brett Senal, Graedon King-Rosado and Cayden Ala was first for ages 7-8 in 1:15.57, the Caribou team of Caleb Finelli, St. Peter, Nic Freeman and Edison Sleeper was first for ages 9-10 in 1:07.31 and the Caribou team of Carter Belanger, Duplissie, Plante and Colin Poitras was first for ages 11-12 in 1:03.31.
Others placing either second or third in their respective individual events were Colby Ouellette of Caribou in the ages 7-8 50-meter dash and the 100-meter dash, Freeman in the 50-meter dash and the 100-meter dash, Malcolm Langner in the 100-meter dash, Colby Langner in the 100-meter dash, Sam Cullins of Fort Fairfield in the 100-meter dash and the standing long jump, Belanger in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, St. Peter in the 100-meter dash and the standing long jump, Joshua Schupbach of Fort Fairfield in the ages 9-10 400-meter dash, Senal in the 800-meter run, Ala in the 800-meter run, Ben Turner of Washburn in the ages 9-10 800-meter run, King-Rosado in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash, Sleeper in the softball throw and Spencer Freeman of Caribou in the ages 7-8 standing long jump.
