Senator Susan Collins, left, gathers with 53 Caribou Middle School students on the steps of the Capitol in Washington, D.C., where she was able to talk with them and answer questions. The students traveled to Washington during April vacation. Collins’ staff gave the group a tour of the Capitol and also helped arrange a tour of the White House. “If I can go from the halls of Caribou High School to the chambers of the U.S. Senate, it just shows that you can be whatever you want to be,” Collins told the students. “It’s hard work; you have to persevere, you have to believe in your dream, you have to get a good education, and most of all never give up.”
