CARIBOU — The Caribou Rotary Club has begun ticket sales for their 20th annual Cash Draw. The Draw is the Rotary’s primary fund-raiser, which allows the service organization to complete numerous community projects.
Tickets may be obtained from any Caribou Rotarian. The cost per ticket is $60, or $50 if two or more are purchased. No more than 1,000 tickets will be sold.
The 2014 Draw, to be held at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m., will feature 50 cash drawings consisting of one $6,000 prize, one $5,000 prize, one $4,000 prize, one $1,000 prize, one $500 prize, five $250 prizes, and 40 $100 prizes.
This year, in lieu of a door prize, an additional $500 Early Bird Drawing will be held for those who purchase their tickets by Saturday, Nov. 15.
The Rotary Club motto is “Service above self.” Caribou Rotary Club supports programs of the Caribou Recreation Department, the Caribou school system and the Caribou Little League, to name a few.
Rotarians annually provide bike helmets to all third-graders in Caribou and surrounding communities, and also provide funds for local participation in the Rotary Youth Exchange program, offering Caribou High School students the chance to spend some time abroad.
Currently, the Caribou Rotarians have committed $10,000 towards new playground equipment at Hilltop Elementary School and have continued to help with the Caribou High School ski building. The Rotary has donated an additional $10,000 toward the project and has supplied volunteers for several weekends to help with construction.
“There are many exciting local projects that will benefit tremendously from support of the Cash Draw,” said Cash Draw committee chairman Malissa Dubie.
Purchase of a ticket allows the holder admission to the Draw, which also will feature hors d’oeuvres and a dance. Attendance at the event is not necessary to win a cash prize.
