WOODLAND – Shirley J. Searles, 72, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at a Caribou Hospital. Shirley was born in Decauter, GA, the daughter of Lilley (Hawkins) Jackson.
Shirley was married to her husband, Henry Searles for 52 years. Her life was centered around her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing and making crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Searles; her sons and their spouses: Henry R. and Cynthia Searles Jr., of Grimesland, NC, Gordon W. and Patty Searles of Elkton, MD, and Terry A. and Kathy Searles of Warren, Ohio, her brothers: William and Jimmy Jackson and their wives; and her sister, Priscilla Jackson. She will also be missed by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Lilley Jackson; and her brothers, Marvin, James and J.W. Jackson.
Friends and family called from 2-3:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where a funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.lancastermorgan.com.
