PRESQUE ISLE — The next Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee meeting is set for June 11 at 6 p.m. at the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 3 Houlton Rd.
Updates will be discussed on the following topics:
• Cancellation of the air show;
• Arts & Crafts Show;
• Plans for a show at the Braden Theatre;
• Church events, including the upcoming progressive supper;
• Fireworks;
• Hand-cancelled stamp;
• James School;
• Lecture series;
• Parade;
• Sporting events – basketball game; 5K run and funding needs;
• Souvenirs – a plate has now been ordered;
• Use of the star that was unveiled for New Year’s Eve; and
• Ultimate ATV Event, hosted by the Star City ATV Club.
The Committee will also discuss the planned schedule of events and what form of publicity will be used to promote upcoming activities.
Meetings are open to the public and comments and suggestions are welcome. Volunteers are also in need and any help would be appreciated. The next scheduled meeting will be held July 9 at 6 p.m. at the Chamber.
