U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), a member of the Senate Appropriations Veterans Affairs Subcommittee, and U.S. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) recently announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs will award Maine $1,320,404 to help renovate the electronic medical record systems at Maine Veterans’ Homes throughout the state.
The Caribou veterans’ facility is among those to receive funding, along with those in Augusta, Bangor, Scarborough, South Paris and Machias.
“Maine’s veterans deserve nothing but the highest quality of care, and providing outstanding rehabilitative facilities is central to that important mission,” said Collins and King in a joint statement.
“These funds will help to do that by improving the medical record system at the veterans’ homes across our state.”
