The group enjoyed the meal and visit, even enjoying a “who did it” over who a spilled drink. The 11 ladies from Washburn making the trip included Glenna Bragg, Drucilla Turner, Sylvia Wardwell, Bernadette Rossignol, Arline Cole, Audrey Pavlick, Gwen Bragg, Eunice Carman, Norma Baker, Anita Tarr, Glenna Ewing along with Rec Director Marcie Barbarula.
South bound and traveling
Mike and Brenda McCoy traveled to Matthews, N.C. to visit Victoria, Kevin, Caleb and Sophia Levesque. They landed at the airport and were greeted by their daughter, Victoria, and grandson, Caleb, who was so excited to see Nana and granddad that his little legs were going a mile a minute trying to move his car seat closer to them.
The main reason for the trip was to celebrate the first birthday of their granddaughter, Sophia Rae. She enjoyed a special birthday party complete with her backyard being decorated with balloons, a special Happy Birthday Lady Bug banner, and a path full of Lady Bug signs directing where the party was to be held.
A very interesting southern lunch was prepared by Victoria and included barbecued beans, pulled pork sandwiches, fruit kabobs, fruit salad, and chocolate covered strawberries, and Brenda noted that Victoria is quickly becoming quite a Southern Belle.
A big Lady Bug birthday cake was made by Nicole Bouchard, who is originally from Fort Fairfield, along with flowered cupcakes. More Aroostook folks that attended were Betty Huston, and her daughter, Juanita, and son-in-law, Chris Whorley, and their son, Bennett. There were a lot of toys (also enjoyed by big brother Caleb) and clothes given by other friends and family and all enjoyed the fun and visit.
The McCoys were also there over Mother’s Day weekend and Victoria gave Brenda a very good Mother’s Day. She made her a breakfast of a special southern coffee cake, served with juice and coffee. She saved the best for last and made Brenda a delicious supper consisting of grilled bacon wrapped scallops, lobster bisque, followed with shrimp scampi, finishing it off with a very special southern style dessert. Another gift pending includes a girl’s day at the spa in the near future.
Nana Brenda and Granddad Mike enjoyed the visit and playing with their grandson, Caleb, and granddaughter, Sophia. During their visit, the family built the Levesque’s a screen room on their deck with help from all. There are plans being made for a trip by van this summer, which will include all the kids going, as well. Caleb and his sister Soakie, as he calls her, are certainly looking forward to that.
