The Caribou Middle School eighth-grade boys’ basketball team won a wild game Dec. 5, beating Presque Isle at home, 57-56, in a contest that required four overtimes before a winner was determined.

Allen ended up with 32 points, including four three-pointers, while Matt Nadeau had 11 points and Brandon Manter six, with both contributing with strong rebounding. Dawson Hebert and Bailey Griffeth hit some key free throws during the fourth overtime period.
Griffin Guerrette had 27 for the Wildcats, who lost for the first time this season.
In a Dec. 12 game, Caribou was outscored 15-7 in the fourth quarter in a 48-43 loss to Houlton. Hebert, Nadeau and Allen scored 10 points apiece for the Vikes. Evan Desmond chipped in with strong defensive play. The two teams had squared off nine days earlier and Caribou was again defeated, 58-42.
