    Marie “Bee” Julianelle Lowrey passed away on November 16, 2013, in Lebanon, NH. Mrs. Lowrey was born in New York City on October 8, 1928, to the late Dr. Louis A. Julianelle and Isabel (Tompkinson) Julianelle.  She spent most of her childhood in St. Louis, MO.
    As a child she collected Kewpie dolls, participated in Girl Scouts, frequented the local library, and enjoyed summers at the beach with her family in Ocean City, NJ. After graduating from Scarsdale High School in White Plains, NY, she enrolled in the College for Women at the University of Pennsylvania. While there, she served as the social co-chair for Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and in 1950 received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She married Dr. Frank R. Lowrey on September 15, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA. They raised their family in Caribou, where he practiced dentistry for 38 years before they retired to Panama City Beach, FL. Mrs. Lowrey especially valued her long-lasting friendships in both Maine and Florida.
    She loved books, enjoyed gardening, and treasured spending time with her family at their camp on Portage Lake, where she became skilled in hunting and fishing. Active in the community, she chaired the Board of Trustees of the Caribou Public Library and served as a member of the Board of the Helen P. Knight School for handi-capped children. She was a member of the Universalist Church of Caribou, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Barton Club. She was also a devoted member of the Auxiliary of the Cary Memorial Hospital, the Social Club, and the Thursday Afternoon Bridge Club.
    Mrs. Lowrey was recently predeceased by her husband of 60 years. She is survived by her sister, Emily “Julie” Resor of Piedmont, CA; two sons, Dr. Christopher Lowrey of South Strafford, VT, and Dr. Nathan Lowrey of Bethesda, MD; daughters-in-law, Gretchen Rittenhouse and Tracy Beman Lowrey; and grandchildren, Aubrey, William, Nathan and Morgan.
    Private services will be held at a later date at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou. In lieu of flowers, donations may made in Mrs. Lowrey’s memory to the Caribou Public Library, 30 High Street, Caribou, Maine 04736.
