Rec soccer league going strong

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s pee wee soccer program continued with games played Sept 16, 18 and 25.
In the grades 5-6 World League, Manchester United and Real Madrid met up and Ethan Holdsworth knocked in a penalty kick to put Man U on the board. The entire Man U team played a great defensive game. Owen Martin was solid in goal, allowing only one goal against an excellent Real Madrid attack.  Peyton Lindsey and Hannah Tarbox were solid in the midfield helping to prevent easy shots by Real Madrid. Kenna Smith, Madison Stratton and Jordan Duplessie all combined for a solid defensive effort against a talented Real Madrid team.    Real Madrid’s Joseph Cimino scored the lone goal for the team from a Parker Deprey assist. Ezra Judd, Tiernan Barbosa and Ashley St. Peter all played great.
In a matchup between Barcelona and Chelsea, Caleb Espling put on an incredible performance for Barcelona as goal keeper and it was a phenomenal effort turned in by the entire Barcelona team. Edie Shea and Carter Belanger both had great offensive games. Alex Bouchard found the goal in this contest with Riley Bouchard assisting. It was a great matchup and a very exciting game for both squads.
Chelsea and Man U took to the pitch and Matt Smith, Devin Ouellette and Jordan Duplessie combined on the goaltending duties for the shutout. Josh Fortin and Ouellette had several excellent scoring opportunities.  Madison Stratton played an excellent defensive game. Goals were scored from Brevin Barnes and Ethan Holdsworth, assisted by Logan Cheplic, Dakota Yakel and Hannah Tarbox.
Team Chelsea played well against a very strong Manchester United team, with lots of good passing and communication on defense. Livia Bouchard and Edie Shea had solid individual performances.
Barcelona and Real Madrid played in an equally-matched game. Kimmie Susi and Paige Espling had nice offensive runs, while Caleb Espling had some unbelievable stops in goal. Sam Marquis held his own in the middle battling off defenders and making good passes to teammates. Elsie Patton showed great hustle.
Parker Deprey, Sawyer Deprey, Tiernan Barbosa and Joseph Cimino all had quality shots on goal but came up empty. Ezra Judd, Ashley St.Peter, Aiden Plante and Jack Doody all did well on defense for team Real Madrid.
Barcelona found the net a few times with goals from Paige Espling, Hunter Stubbs and Cullin Caverhill in their contest against Chelsea. Alex Picard kept Chelsea off the board in the first half with great goaltending.
Team Chelsea fought hard in this contest with Alex Bouchard connecting for a goal offensively. Ben Legasse played strong defense with Carter Belanger and Spencer Soucy showing great hustle all over the field.
Real Madrid and Manchester United played a great match. Real Madrid got the upper hand with goals from both Deprey brothers, Parker and Sawyer. Hayden Hunter, Jack Doody and Kaden DeMerchant all added assists.
Manchester United got on the board in the second half with Brevin Barnes getting a breakaway in the middle of the field and capitalizing. Ethan Holdworth put on a nice display with his corner kicks as he and Barnes almost connected for a header into the back of the net. Defensively, the team played very hard and Matt Smith was solid in goal.
In the grades 3-4 Premier League, the Red Bulls and Timbers squared off. Scoring in the second half of play for the Red Bulls were Abbie McNeal and Ashlyn Bouchard. Jacob Palmer added an assist and created great offense for the team. Isaac Andretta played well in goal. It was great defense from the entire team that kept the Timbers’ offense in check. The Timbers played an exciting game with Daryl Freeman having several great runs towards the goal. Zack Judd played great in the net stopping several shots on goal. Jude Shea made several attempts shooting the ball on goal.
In a match featuring the Galaxy against the Revolution, Ryan Austin found the net for the Revs in the tough contest that ended up in a tie. The Revs played great defense, getting great contributions from Alexis Gustin, Ahlanda Engstrom-Jones and Kaleb Finelli. There was also some great goaltending from Tanner Prashaw and Jaden Picard. Galaxy had many shots on goal with Ari Plante connecting on one of them.  Emma Kilcollins assisted on the goal and played great offensively. Team Galaxy held possession of the ball quite a bit in this contest. Team play was evident as everyone fought hard until the end.
Revolution played a tough game with the Timbers. Solid efforts were turned in by Tilly Seaman, MacKenzie LeTourneau and Eliott Sleeper. Naomi Cote and Selena Savage provided a strong defensive effort for the Revolution.
Timbers’ Avery Knowles and Cailyn Kouhoupt played their hearts out on defense stopping many Revolution attacks.  Zack Judd and Liam Dee both made some nice passes in the game.
In the Red Bulls match against Galaxy, Ashlyn Bouchard scored for Red Bulls in the second half, unassisted on a breakaway. It was a solid defensive performance from P.J. McDonough and Konnor Huckins. Galaxy’s Ari Plante and Reece Cavagnaro were the goal finders for the team. Dawson Whitten connected with teammate Plante for the assist. Passing was great and the defense did an outstanding job.
Timbers and Red Bulls matched up again in a great contest. Daryl Freeman and Darian Langille both had some offensive moves to put shots on goal. Landon Thompson played a great game defensively for the Timbers. The Red Bulls had goals scored by Konnor Huckins, Ashlyn Bouchard and Abby McNeal.  Griffin McNeal added an assist to help offensively. Cameron Belanger, Issac Andretta and MacKenzie Hite all played good defense with Huckins and G. McNeal keeping everything out of the net. Colin Poitras also had some nice offensive runs.
Revolution and Galaxy played to a scoreless tie. Revolution received great defense from Alexis Gustin, Tanner Prashaw and Mackenzie LeTourneau. There were great scoring opportunities offered by Selena Savage, Ryan Austin and Naomi Cote. There also were great saves made by Kaleb Finelli. Revolution received great all-around play from Tilly Seaman and Eliott Sleeper. Team Galaxy showed lots of hustle on the field from Dawson Whitten, Ari Plante and Reece Cavagnaro. Lauren Craig and Mia Theriault both had solid performances defensively.
