Members of the VFW Post 9389 Ladies Auxiliary presented officials with the Veterans’ Memorial Park association with a check for $2,500 to help the group continue honoring veterans. Auxiliary members generated $1,700 of the donation through a raffle fundraiser and the group members added an extra $800 themselves for the Park Association. First place winner of the raffle was Betty Long, who won an afghan. Dennis Clark was the second-place winner, receiving $100; Clark promptly donated the funds back to the VMPA. The third-place winner was Darren Hanson, who won $50. Auxiliary members expressed their thanks to the community, particularly those who helped make the raffle a success.
