    CARIBOU and VAN BUREN – Elmyra “Myra” (Michaud) Doucette, 88, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, at a Caribou Healthcare Facility following a brief illness. She was born June 28, 1925, in St. Francis, the daughter of Simon and Christie (Jandreau) Michaud.
    She attended St. Francis schools and had been employed at the Red Brick Motel in their housekeeping department for several years. She later worked at the Caribou Nursing and Rehab Center in their housekeeping department for a number of years. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou. Myra enjoyed tea with her friends, especially those at Caribou Gardens.
    In addition to her parents, Myra was predeceased by three brothers, George, CJ, and Medley Michaud; and two sisters, Venelia Plourde and Alphena Tagget. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, including her special great-nephew and his wife who were also her dedicated care givers, Rick and Tara Taggett of Woodland, as well as her two great-great nephews, Wyatt and Jesse Taggett of Woodland. She also leaves behind special friends, Judy and David Armstrong of Hartland and Thelma Anderson of Caribou.
    A graveside service of committal was conducted Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, St. Francis. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to C-A-N-C-E-R, P.O. Box 811, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
