AUGUSTA — Officials with Maine Veterans’ Homes are pleased to introduce Donna L. Gosselin, RN-BC, BSN, as the organization’s new director of corporate compliance and quality. The position oversees the compliance and quality programs at the six homes located across Maine, including Caribou, composed of 462 skilled nursing and rehabilitation beds and 178 residential care dementia beds.
“During my career in long-term care in Maine, I have seen Maine Veterans’ Homes champion so many quality initiatives,” said Gosselin. “I am proud to be a part of such a great team here and I am honored to be entrusted with this new responsibility.”
Gosselin, who is from Monmouth, was previously the director of nursing at Seaside Healthcare in Portland for about one year. Prior to that, she served in various capacities at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston for 20 years, including nursing manager, manager of health information systems and assistant director of nursing services. She also served as a nurse in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1993-1997.
“Donna is a great fit for this position as she has many years of experience,” said Deb Fournier, RN-BC, MSB, chief operations officer. “She is a great leader and we are looking forward to having her continue in helping MVH lead the way in providing outstanding quality care to our veterans.”
Gosselin and her husband, Bruce, have four children, Danika, Tyler, Jared and Erin, as well as two grandchildren. She attended Husson University’s School of Nursing. In addition to being a registered nurse-board certified in gerontology, she is a member of the Healthcare Compliance Association and a member of the National Gerontological Nursing Association.
