Youth garner awards in local golf program

    CARIBOU — The youth golf program at Caribou Country Club ended for the season on July 23.
    During the program, the basic skills of the game, course management and golf etiquette were taught.

Seventeen students were enrolled in the program.
    On the final session, students competed in the following drills — closest to the pin, driving, chipping and putting.
    Results were as follows: closest to the pin: first, Cullen Caverhill, second, Elizabeth Zell, and third, Michael Smith.
    Driving: first, Michael Kashian, second, Caverhill, and third, Smith.
    Chipping: first, Elizabeth Zell, second, Caverhill; and third, Kashian.
    Putting: first, Caverhill; second, Smith; and third, Kashian.
    Awards were presented and hot dogs enjoyed to conclude the season. The program was directed by Caribou Country Club manager Jeff Jose.
