FORT FAIRFIELD – Kurt Lee LeVasseur passed away peacefully of natural causes at the age of 38, Saturday morning, July 6, 2013 in Fort Fairfield. He was born October 6, 1974, in Presque Isle, the son of Wayne Lee and Doreen S. (Ketch) LeVasseur.
Kurt graduated from the Caribou High School Class of 1992 where he excelled in their welding program, enjoyed skiing on the ski team and also the 4-H program. He was a hard worker and held several different positions in the carpentry industry. Kurt loved his kids more than anything. He had fun playing with them and taking them places. This past week, he took them fishing and his son caught the biggest fish. Kurt was always a friendly happy person to everyone he met.
He was predeceased by his father, Wayne Lee LeVasseur; his maternal grandmother, Janet Ketch; his paternal grandparents, Bernard P. and Edwina R. A. LeVasseur; one uncle, Daniel LeVasseur. Kurt is survived by his mother, Doreen S. Campbell and her companion, Blaise Caldwell, both of Caribou and Homosassa, Florida; one son, Dylan W. LeVasseur; one daughter, Kennedy Lee LeVasseur, both of Presque Isle; one brother, Herbert W. LeVasseur of Adairsville, Georgia; maternal grandfather, Herbert L. Ketch of Woodland; one niece; one nephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday July 10, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, with Pastor Dee Lower officiating, where he will be interred next to his father. Family and friends are invited to a time of remembrance with light refreshments after the service at the Community Wesleyan Church, 9 Wesleyan Street, Fort Fairfield.
