Hackett, Joanne N., 86, June 27, 2013. A service will be held later this summer at Holy Rosary Church in Caribou.
Joanne N. Hackett passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on June 27, 2013 in Ogunquit, Maine. Born August 7, 1926, she was raised in Caribou by her parents, Emma and Sylvio Blanchette.
In 1948, she married Anthony “Tony” Hackett. Together, they raised five children in Caribou. They, along with Tony’s brother Mike and Joanne’s sister Rena, were the owners of A&M Hackett Wholesalers.
Tony passed away in 1979 and Joanne became the matriarch of the family. She lived in Naples, Florida from 1992 until 2011 when she moved to Ogunquit.
She was the glue that held her family together – a vibrant woman who loved reading, cooking, traveling, playing Scrabble and staying in touch with her many relatives and friends.
She enjoyed a full life with loving family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her children, Carole, Steven, Debra, Richard (partner Bill), Mark (wife Carol) and grandchildren, Matt, Austin and Anna. Mom, you will forever be with us in the joy that you brought to our lives.
A service will be held later this summer at Holy Rosary Church in Caribou. Please donate to the charity of your choice in her memory.
