Caribou Little League game summaries from last week are as follows:
Shop & Save 10, Eagles 5
Shop & Save built a 10-0 lead and held off a sixth-inning comeback to get by the Eagles. Tristan Mancos pitched 5-1/3 innings of one-hit baseball to pick up the victory, with Alex Ezzy and Sawyer Deprey finishing up. At the plate, Ezzy had three hits and two RBI to pace the attack. Parker Deprey, Evan Burgay and Keegan Dickinson each had a double and a single, and Mancos and Sawyer Deprey also added hits.
For the Eagles, Scott Bray had a two-run double during their sixth-inning rally, with Dominick Crouch and Caleb Trombley adding RBI singles. Ghent Durepo also hit safely for the Eagles. On the mound, Durepo went a strong 4-2/3 innings, with Trombley going the final 1-1/3.
Shop & Save 19, Police 0
Shop & Save pitchers combined to allow only one hit while striking out 15 in shutting out the Police. Parker Deprey went the first four innings, facing the minimum 12 batters, with Carter Conley and Alex Ezzy each throwing one inning.
At the plate, Evan Burgay of Shop & Save hit three home runs, one over the center field fence and two of the inside-the-park variety, to lead the 14-hit attack. Sawyer Deprey and Miles Collier also added back-to-back inside-the-park home runs. Ezzy had three singles, Ethan Holdsworth and Parker Deprey had two hits, and Tristan Mancos and Conley added singles.
For the Police, starting pitcher Drew Evans went 3-2/3 innings with nine strikeouts, with Devin Saggese, Cameron Ouellette and Ayla Theriault coming on in relief. At the plate, Ouellette had a single for Police’s only hit.
Eagles 9, Bank of Maine 8
In a close matchup, the Eagles pushed through with a 9-8 win. For the Eagles, Ghent Durepo was the starting pitcher with relief provided by Caleb Trombley and Dominick Crouch. Eagles’ bats were led by Scott Bray with three hits, Trombley and Wyatt Taggett with two hits and Durepo and Hollie McDougal with a hit each.
For Bank of Maine, the starting pitcher was Brennen Poitras, with Benoit Levesque and Brevin Barnes finishing out the game. Benoit Levesque and Sebastian Marquis had two hits each, Barnes had one and Sammy Marquis another to end the final inning.
Eagles 18, Police 12
The Woodland Eagles defeated the Police as Scott Bray and Amber Moir handled the pitching. The offense for the Eagles was led by the girls on the team as Moir had three hits, including a home run, Hollie McDougal notched three hits and Brooke Blackstone and Monica McLaughlin each added a single.
Bray and Zakk Tracy also had hits for the Eagles.
Police starting pitcher was Devin Saggese with Cameron Ouellette and Alya Theriault coming on in relief. Drew Evans had two singles and Logan Longley one for Police.
Sleepers 27, Tigers 6
Brandon Manter hit three home runs while Jake Ouellette had four hits and scored six times and Hayden Hunter added three hits and scored five runs to help Sleepers to the victory.
Jay Belanger had four hits and Cam Huck added three, while Brandon Jalbert, Devin White and Chris Cassidy had two each for the winners. Sleeper’s Heather DeMerchant reached base on her first Little League hit.
Manter, White, Hunter and Huck did the pitching for Sleepers.
The Tigers were led by Matt McCormick’s two hits while Cam Doody and Carter Moir each had one.
