CARIBOU

CRX (Caribou Rec Extreme)

    Registrations are now being accepted for the following summer youth CRX Take Me Outside programs.
    Week 5 is wild outdoor women at Acadia National Park for grades 6-9 and runs from July 23-25. The fee is $200 for residents and $225 for non-residents.

    Week 6 is mountain biking for grades 6-9 and runs from July 29-Aug. 1. The fee is $35 for residents and $60 for non-residents.
    Week 7 is Baxter State Park I for grades 8-9 and runs Aug. 6-8.
    Week 8 is Baxter State Park II for grades 6-7 and runs Aug. 13-15.
    The fee for the Baxter trips is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required for these trips since space is limited.

Outdoor pool hours

    The Caribou outdoor pool is now open for swimming lessons and general swim.
    General swim hours are Monday through Friday from 2-4 p.m. and Saturday from noon-4 p.m. Children six years of age and under must be accompanied on the pool deck at all times by are parent or designated guardian. Children that are not potty trained must wear rubberized, elastic-legged coverings in the water.


LIMESTONE

Brazilian soccer camp

    TetraBrazil Soccer Camp will be held at Limestone Community School July 8-12, and local players will learn Brazilian techniques, footwork and moves in a fun and challenging environment.
    The cost for a half day (9 a.m.-noon) is $138 and for a full day (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) is $189.
    The camp is for those ages 7-16. Each camper will receive a free soccer ball and shirt. Register through challengersports.com.

Adult softball tourney

    The Limestone Recreation Department will host its annual co-ed softball tournament on Saturday, June 29 at the Albert Michaud Memorial Park.
    Registration for this double-elimination tournament will be open in advance and the morning of the tournament beginning at 8 a.m. The first games will take place at 9 a.m.
    There is a $100 registration fee per team for the tournament and a roster limit of 13 per team. All members on the winning team will receive free tournament T-shirts.

Off-Road 5K slated

    The Limestone Recreation Department and the Limestone Class of 2016 Project Graduation students are teaming up to host the first Limestone 4th of July Off-Road 5K Walk/Run. The event will take place on July 4 with registration taking place from 9-9:30 a.m. behind the Limestone Community School. 
     The walk/run will begin at 9:30 a.m. Walkers will walk an abbreviated course. The entry fee for this event is $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Limestone Class of 2016 Project Graduation group. T-shirts will be available to order at the event and will cost $5 each.

3-on-3 basketball tourney

    The Limestone Recreation Department and the Limestone Class of 2016 Project Graduation group will host a co-ed, three-on-three double-elimination basketball tournament on July 5 and 6.
    Registrations will be taken in advance as well as on the first day of the tournament. Day-of registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the basketball court located in the Albert Michaud Memorial Park.  Games will be held on July 5 from 5:30-8 p.m. and will resume at 10 a.m. on July 6 until the tournament is completed.
    The cost to participate is $30 per team. A cash prize of $75 will be awarded to the tournament’s winning team. Call 325-4791 for more information.
