CARIBOU – Irene Bernadette (Michaud) Caron, 87, wife of the late Paul L. Caron, died May 29, 2013, at the home of her son in Caribou, surrounded by her family. She was born in Caribou on September 13, 1925, the daughter of the late Abel and Maggie (Michaud) Michaud.
She was educated in the Caribou Schools and left school after she became sick with rheumatic fever. She married Paul Caron on October 26, 1944, and he predeceased her in 2010. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her family was her life, and Christmas get-togethers were her favorite time of year. Irene loved her Lord and Savior and was a lifelong member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Her faith never faltered and she was a faithful servant.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Beverly Caron of Caribou and Glen and Myra Caron of Scarborough; one sister, Jeannette Christensen of Terryville, CT; two granddaughters, Danielle Whitmore and her husband, George, and Kristina Drinkall; one grandson, Paul Caron and wife, Sheana; three great-grandsons, Tyler and Zachery Caron, and George Whitmore; five great-grand-daughters; Ashley and Alexis Drinkall and their father, Glenn Drinkall, Kemzen and Brandon Adams, and Kassidy and Haley Caron, all of Caribou; three sisters-in-law, Germaine, Fern and Doris Michaud; many nieces, nephews; several special in-laws; and a very special friend at Borderview Manor, Rita Kinney.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 7-9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment was in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
