BEND, OR and CARIBOU – Earl L. Belyea, 85, died November 24, 2012 in Bend, OR after a period of declining health. He was born in Caribou September 30, 1927, son of Gordon and Adelaide (Sweeny) Belyea.
Earl graduated from Caribou High School class of 1945 and worked in the local area until his induction into the U.S. Army in November of 1950, where he served two years during the Korean War. He spent two years in Maine after discharge from the Army and moved to Sacramento, California area in 1954 where he lived until 2004. He was a decorated firefighter who proudly served the City of Sacramento for 27 years, until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dimples, who cared for him as his health declined; brothers, Donald, Roger, Foye and Richard Belyea; sisters, Ruth Bemis, Faye Campbell and Jeanette Belyea. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Adelaide; brother, Kenneth; and sisters, Emily (Bette), and Lois Whittier.
A committal service was held on May 28, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Lombard Road, Caribou.
