CARIBOU — Why are pirate dances so much fun?
They just “arrrrrre.”
With 223 in attendance for this year’s pirate-themed Mother/Son Dance, the successful evening featured prizes, cake and a whole lot of movin’ and groovin’.
Pirate costumed adults and adolescents weren’t hard to find, and Caribou Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent Kathy Mazzuchelli heard lots of positive comments regarding the fun-natured event.
Mazzuchelli also gave kudos to the parents who embraced the sillyness and dressed up like pirates with their kids.
As the Mother/Son dance is one of many annual events that draw high numbers, it’s almost time for the department’s annual summer program registration.
Parents can sign their kids up on Wednesday, June 12 at the Wellness Center starting at 6 p.m. and running until 8 p.m. for residents of Caribou; non-residents can sign up their kids the following day.
