CARIBOU — The Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce has changed the date of their annual recognition dinner from Thursday, May 9, to Thursday, May 23.
William Tasker, CACC director, advises that the Chamber is in need of nominations for the five community awards to be handed out at the dinner: Business of the Year; Citizen of the Year; Spirit of Caribou, which is awarded to a business or citizen who inspired others within the community; Downtown Revitalization Award, given to a business who has added to the vitalization of the downtown area; and the Lifetime Achievement Award, given to an individual who has contributed to the community throughout their lifetime.
According to Tasker, if enough nominations for each award are not received by Friday, May 3, the dinner will, unfortunately, have to be cancelled. Nominations may be e-mailed to Tasker at cacc@cariboumaine.net; phoned in at 498-6156; mailed to Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce, 657 Main St. Suite 1, Caribou, ME 04736; or dropped off at the office at the Nylander Museum on South Main Street.
Everyone is invited to attend the dinner. The cost is $28 per person. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:30, with the awards handed out directly after dinner.
