The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department and Pepsi Cola Bottling of Presque Isle are reminding people it is not too late to get involved in Community Pride Day in Caribou on Saturday, April 27th from 8 a.m. to noon. Families, service organizations and clubs — or folks who just like to volunteer — are being asked to participate in cleaning up community parks and landscape areas around Caribou.
Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, Kathy Mazzuchelli notes that volunteers are being sought to rake, pick up litter, and basically clean up local parks and landscape areas and help beautify Caribou. She asks that interested parties pre-register by contacting the Caribou Parks and Recreation office.
Volunteers may choose to work on a park in their neighborhood or they can be assigned to a park or landscape area when they register. All volunteers are asked to bring rakes, shovels and gloves. At noon, Pepsi Cola Bottling of Presque Isle will be providing lunch to all volunteers. The luncheon will be held at Teague Park.
“How our community looks to visitors speaks volumes about the community character and our commitment to our community,” said Mazzuchelli.
