There were bears, bears, everywhere in the Maternal/Child Services area at Cary Medical Center recently. James and Rena Michaud of Caribou visited the hospital with their third generous donation of Boyds Bears of all sizes in memory of James’ first wife, Gerri, who passed away three years ago. According to James, Gerri was “a serious collector,” gathering over 1,100 Boyds Bears in the course of about 10 years. The largest of the bears, Mr. Brumfield, was one of Gerri’s favorites and is number 219 of only 350 made. Posing with the stuffed toys are, from left, Jen Plante, RN, BSN, primary charge nurse; Nicole Theriault, RN; Paula Parent, RN, BSN, MBA, director of human resources/chief nursing officer; Rena Michaud; James Michaud; Deneane Bentum, RN; and, sitting on the bed, Kris Doody, RN, MSB, Cary’s chief executive officer.
