CARIBOU — After a seven-year hiatus, the city will once more have an official Mr. Caribou.
The 2013 Mr. Caribou Contest, sponsored by the Caribou High School freshman class, will be held at the Caribou Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 12 starting at 7 p.m.
Set to the theme of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, six hopeful contestants will be vying for the title of Mr. Caribou.
Co-directed by Sherrill Campbell and Lisa Milliard, the show will feature pure entertainment with a little bit of pageantry!
Each contestant has chosen a character from the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to portray during the first part of the competition. The talent competition will follow, and the judges will have a chance to ask each contestant a question to be answered during the formal wear and on stage interview competitions.
The participants are:
• Lukas Lagasse, a freshman at CHS, is the son of Melanie Lagasse and the late Richard Lagasse. Lukas will perform a piano selection for his talent presentation. His escort is Emma Duplissie Cyr. Lukas’s sponsors for the evening are Precision Lawn Care and Margeson Organic Farms.
• Alex Scott, a junior at CHS, is the son of Steve and Bobbie Quist and Andrew and Kelly Scott. Alex will perform a guitar solo for his talent presentation. His escort for the evening is Jenna Neece. He is sponsored by Mazzie’s Driving School and Bondeson Farms.

The evening’s emcees are Kelsey Kiehn, daughter of John and Kim Kiehn, and Irene Thibodeau, daughter of Lisa Anderson and Joe Thibodeau; the emcees are both CHS freshmen.
Special entertainment will be provided by Miss Teen Caribou Karina Patterson.
Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from any contestant, from the CHS office, or at the door the night of the performance. All proceeds benefit the CHS Class of 2016.
