NEW SWEDEN — The bitter cold of last week kept the New Sweden Board of Selectmen meeting held at the town office on Jan. 23 short and straight to the point as no one from the public was in attendance.
As reported in the Aroostook Republican last week, the selectmen were waiting to receive paperwork back from attorney Luke Rossignol regarding signing a portion of the deed for Thomas Park over to a resident who had buildings situated on the outer perimeter of the park’s property. Selectman Linwood Lord verified that they did receive the paperwork back from Rossignol and it is now pending review and signatures from all parties involved in order for the transaction to be completed.
The remainder of the meeting was business as usual with signing of warrants and financial statements along with the road report from Road Crew Foreman Shawn Dube.
The next New Sweden selectmen meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the New Sweden Town Office at 6:30 p.m.
