ST. THOMAS, Pa. — David D. Hedstrom, age 57, passed away December 16, 2012. He was born October 14, 1955, in Caribou, ME to Theodore and Evelyn (Larsson) Hedstrom. He was married to Kathleen Allen Hedstrom on July 11, 1981. David was employed by Volvo in Shippensburg. He was an active member in the Zion Reformed Church, Society of Agricultural Engineers, and the Williamson Ruritan. He loved gardening, woodworking and helping others.
David is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hedstrom of St. Thomas, PA; two children, Megan M. Carey of Chambersburg, PA and David D. Hedstrom II of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Marie Garland and Letha Van Kirk; four brothers, Marvin, Warren, Gary and Alton Hedstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Douglas P. Hedstrom and son-in-law, Jason Carey.
A memorial service was held Saturday, January 5, at 10 a.m. at Zion Reformed Church, 259 South Main Street, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or Diakon Social Ministries York Adoption and Foster Care, 836 South George St., York, PA 17403. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
