Nancy Cowett and her mother, Althea Hamlin, were very busy last year creating two beautiful quilts. Cowett and Hamlin wanted to donate these handmade quilts to a special population in Caribou, our veterans and local chemotherapy patients. Earlier this year Cowett presented the quilts to the oncology department at Cary Medical Center to keep veterans warm while they receive their chemotherapy treatments. Hats off to special community citizens such as Cowett and Hamlin! Displaying the beautiful quilts are, from left, Erica Guerrette, CNA, Cary specialty clinic; Deana Williams, Cary specialty clinic manager; Nancy Hamlin Cowett; Katie Michaud, RN, Project ARCH care coordinator; and Peggy Barnes, RN, Cary oncology nurse.
