Gingerbread house decorating scheduled Dec. 7
Youths come and decorate your own Gingerbread House on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Pre-registration is required and limited to 200 youths. This event is sponsored by Sleeper’s Grocery.
Cheerleading for grades 4-6 offered
Cheerleading meets Tuesday and Thursdays from 3-5 pm from Dec. 4 through March 14, 2013. This program is designed to introduce participants to the basic skills of cheerleading including jumps, tumbling, stunts and cheering. Please note that we have opened this program up to girls in grades 4. Pre-registration is required.
Grades 1-2 basketball session under way
Grade 1 and 2 basketball is being offered for a second session Nov. 26-Dec. 19 and meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
Snowmobile Education Course takes place at wellness center
There will be a Snowmobile Education Course held offered Dec. 20 and 21 from 6-9 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Participation in a snowmobile education course will teach how to properly operate and maintain a snowmobile. Laws, responsibilities and personal safety will also be covered. This course is open to any age. There is a $5 registration fee and pre-registration is required.
Wellness Center open six days a week
The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturdays from noon-4 p.m. The facility is closed Sundays. Area residents are welcome to come and utilize our walking track.
T.I.O.S.S. Senior and Adult Series
Outings and seminars to help adults and seniors fall into shape and keep mentally sharp are offered through the recreation department.
WAGM-TV weatherman Ted Shapiro will be at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center Friday, Nov. 30 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. He will discuss such topics as lightning safety, what the clouds mean in the sky and most importantly, what will this winter bring us. There is a $15 registration fee which includes a lunch. Pre-registration is required.

Men’s 30-and-over basketball
The men’s 30-and-over basketball is under way and meets Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-noon. This program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and over and meets at the gym. There is a $3 per player fee on Sundays.
