Eleven-year-old Noah Hixon, son of Kelli and Ken Hixon of Westmanland, recently tagged his first deer — a 6-point, 170-pound buck.

He used a .30-.30 Marlin, which was a gift from his grandparents Galen and Birdine Wedberg of Caribou, to hunt the deer on Youth Day, Oct. 20 on the family farm in Westmanland. With young Hixon are his father Ken and his friend Brennan Poitras of Caribou.
