Woodland – Ellen M. Michaud, 82, wife of the late Guy Michaud, died August 28, 2012, at Bath. She was born in Caribou, February 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Thomas and Avis (Hale) Grant.
She was a graduate of Caribou High School as well as the Madigan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as an R.N. at Cary Memorial Hospital for several years. Mrs. Michaud was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Sweden and more recently a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodland. Ellen and Guy were active members of the First Baptist Church of New Sweden food pantry, where they spent countless hours helping to grow and support the program.
She is survived by her son, Rodney Michaud of Bath, her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Wally Babbidge of Ellisville, Mississippi. Her sister, Barbara Smith of Woodland; six grandchildren, Melinda Fournier, Richard Michaud, Shanna Babbiddge, Lori Pavlov, Carlton and John Babbidge; two great-granddaughters, Sophia Pavlov and Lacey Fournier.
Mrs. Michaud was predeceased by her husband, Guy in 2004 and two brothers, Lloyd and Keith Grant.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 until time of funeral services. Funeral was held 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Ron Rosser, officiating. Interment was in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
