Soccer officials’ clinic
The Northern Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials will conduct a clinic for prospective soccer officials July 21 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the ski building at the Caribou High School athletic complex.
Bob Stedt, NMBASO rules interpreter, will be the clinician.
Anybody 18 years of age or older who is interested in officiating the game of soccer this fall on the middle school and junior varsity levels in Aroostook County is urged to attend.
There is a $35 fee for the clinic. Pre-registration is recommended.

Golf scramble at AVCC to benefit hoop hall of fame
The second annual Maine Basketball Hall of Fame golf scramble will be held Friday, Aug. 3 at Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield.
This four-person Oldsmobile scramble format will have an 11 a.m. shotgun start, with registration taking place from 10-10:45 a.m. The field is limited to the first 40 paid teams and the entry fee is $50 per person, which includes a steak or chicken barbecue.
More than $4,000 in prizes will be awarded to the top two gross and top eight net teams. Proceeds from the tourney will go to the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, which will be located in a wing of the new Maine Center now under construction in Bangor.
