BUCKLEY, Ernestine, 90, of Presque Isle, on June 22, 2012.   Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.


ARSH Ernestine Buckley OBPRESQUE ISLE – Ernestine (Cary) Buckley, 90, formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Washburn on March 16, 1922, the daughter of Everett and Flora (Kennard) Cary. A 1939 graduate of Washburn High School, Ernestine attended the Presque Isle Normal School (now UMPI) and the Farmington Teachers College. She taught elementary school in Limestone and Caribou, and in Winsted and Manchester, CT. She married Bartholomew ‘Bart’ Buckley in 1960 and they lived their entire married life in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Ernestine was a generous giver to the Lord’s work, to needy people the world over, and to her family.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; sister-in-law, Gladys Cary; and a niece, Jane Cary.

She will be remembered and missed by her brothers and their families. She is survived by Dwight and Leila Cary of Washburn, their son, Michael Cary and his wife, Jane of Wilmington, VT., their son, Robert Cary and his wife, Nora of Greens-boro, NC; and a brother, Everett Cary of Caribou and special friend, Elaine Corey, and his children, Lynn and Richard Theriault of Caribou; Paul Cary and his wife, Janet of Bangor. She was a beloved and generous ‘Auntie’ to great- nieces and nephews, Will and Kate Cary, Patrick Cary, Eric, Andrew and Evan Theriault, and Matthew Cary.

Friends called 12:30 – 1 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services were held at 1 p.m., with Dr. Rev.
