RSU 39 honors staff and retirees

Staff and administrators affiliated with the Eastern Aroostook School Unit 39 (Caribou, Limestone and Stockholm) attended the annual staff awards dinner held at the Caribou Middle School on May 31.

Retiring RSU 39 educators who among them have a total of 345 years of educating local youth were honored at the May 31 Annual Staff Recognition Awards Dinner held at the Caribou Middle School. Retirees are, from left: Ruth Dionne, Judy St. Peter, Arlene Gaunce, Carol Johnson, Rita Roy, Monika Baker, Bob Blanchard, Julie Cook and Alan Dearborn. The annual awards program recognizes the years of service provided by individuals in all areas of local education including custodial, food service, secretarial, teaching and administration.

Retiring at the end of the 2011-12 school years and their respective total years of teaching include Monika Baker, 34 years, administrative secretary; Julie Cook, 16 years, ed-tech at middle school level; Arlene Gaunce 29 years, elementary education; Judy St. Peter, 38 years, elementary education; Robert Blanchard, 25 years, guidance counselor; Alan Dearborn, 42 years, high school level education; Carol Johnson, 37 years, elementary education; Ron Willey, 37 years, high school level education; Darris Brewer Allen, 26 years, high school level education; Ruth Dionne 31 years, middle level education and Rita Roy, 30 years, elementary education.

RSU 39 individuals recognized for five-year affiliation in the Caribou, Limestone or Stockholm schools were: Lance Belanger, Wendy Bossie, Ryan Drost, Jenna Hartung, Jennifer Pinette, Rebekah Trombley, Jamie Bell, Peg Conologue, Tina Duplissie, Carmen Huck, Erin Tateishi, Katie Wall, Julia Bergeron, Anita Dickinson, John Hamilton, Pam Morgan and Lena Tingley.

Ten-year awards were presented to Beth Boone, Cathryn Kelly, Sharon Plourde, Claudia St. Peter, Lois Brewer, Vanda Madore, Jennifer Rand, Wanda Theriault, Karen Hewitt, Jennifer Michaud and Robert Russell.

Those receiving 15-year recognition awards included Holly Hancock, Carla Picard, Irma Labreck, Annette Staples, Mark Mazerolle and David Stewart.

Twenty-year awards went to Katie Bell, Peter Scovil, Cindy McDuffie, Ken Westin, Karen Nadeau and Sue White.

Accepting 25-year awards were Lisa Anderson, Ray Cunrod, Pat Sterris, Aline Bernier, Cindy LeVasseur, Bob Blanchard and Diana Locke.

Recognized for 30 years in education were Rita Roy and Lyle Gengler.

Honored with 35-year awards were local educators Roy Alden and Cathy Bouchard.
