CARIBOU – Norman F. Akerson Jr., 53, passed away on Saturday, April 28, at a Caribou Hospital. Norman was born in Caribou on December 29, 1958, the son of Norman Akerson Sr. and Shirley (McLaughlin) DeMoura. Norman had worked as a woodcutter most of his life.
Norman enjoyed spending his time with his family. He and his son Matt had many fun times together, whether it was “Junking” around the area, or spending time at home, they enjoyed each other’s company and were great friends. Norman also loved listening to country music and fishing in the brooks and streams of the Caribou area.
Norman is survived by his partner of 31 years, Yvonne Skidgel; his children, Matthew Skidgel, Amy Bouchard, Norma Skidgel, Brad Taggett, all of Caribou and Joy from Mapleton. He also leaves behind his siblings, Kirk Akerson, Beatrice Wilkins both of Caribou, Paul Akerson of Limestone, and Roxie Martin of Waterville; his grandchildren, Andrew and Evan Bouchard, Hailie Skidgel and Trenton Delislie.,
Norman is predeceased by his mother, Shirley (McLaughlin) DeMoura and a son, Timothy Norman, and a granddaughter, Tiffaney Amber.
