U.S. Sen. Susan Collins recently welcomed Maine’s 2012 Teacher of the Year, Alana Margeson, to the United States Capitol. Margeson, who is from Westmanland, is an English teacher at Caribou High School. Margeson joined other Teacher of the Year finalists during a special recognition ceremony in Washington, D.C. “America’s teachers are among our most dedicated public servants. Here in Maine, and throughout the country, our teachers take on the challenge of educating our young people and helping them to realize their full potential,” Collins said. “I congratulate Alana for being recognized as one of the best in the nation.” Margeson is shown here with her husband, Erich and Sen.
