Hershey Track & Field

Hershey track and field is for youths ages 9-14 and starts April 23. This program introduces youths to the basic fundamentals of running, throwing and jumping. Age is determined as of December 31, 2012. Pre-registration is required.

Pitch, Hit and Run

 

Pitch, Hit and Run is a skills competition for boys and girls ages 7-14 and meets on May 12 at the Little League ball field in Caribou. Ages 7-10 competes at 9 a.m. and ages 11-14 competes at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required with a registration deadline of May 11. Boys compete with boys and girls compete with girls in the same age groupings.

Mother Son Dance

The annual Mother Son Dance will be held on Friday, May 11 from 7-9 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. This year’s event will feature a tropical theme so come on down with your shorts and sandals and have a great time. Admission is $5 per couple. Photos by Duane will be available for a fee. XC Ski Returns

The seasonal XC ski rentals are to be returned to the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center on Thursday, April 26 from 6-8 p.m. For additional information please contact the office at 493-4224.

Pokemon

A game club meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center on Fridays from 3:15-5 p.m. The dates that the clubs meet are April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25; and June 1, 8.

Bog Birding in Caribou

On Friday, May 4 at 8 a.m. join local bird aficionado Bill Sheehan and Parks and Recreation outdoor specialist Neal Sleeper for a glimpse of the wide array of birds around Caribou with a visit to a beautiful bog area along the Aroostook Valley Trail. Transportation will be available from the Recreation Center with limited seating. Participants are welcome to take their own vehicles. Bring binoculars if you like and dress appropriately with some good walking shoes. Pre-registration is required. Participants will be eligible to win a $10 gas card and have their names entered into a drawing for a new set of binoculars at the end of the month.

Owl Prowl and Night Sounds

On Friday,  May 11 at 8 p.m. Bill Sheehan and Neal Sleeper will entertain and enlighten you with a wealth of information about owls and other nocturnal creatures. Pre-registration is required. The van will leave the recreation center at 7:45 p.m. Participants will be eligible to win a $10 gas card and have their names entered into a drawing for a new set of binoculars at the end of the month.

Nature in downtown Caribou

On Friday, May 18 at 8 a.m. travel with us to Collins Pond and explore the wetland and the birds that frequent a wonderful natural resource right in downtown Caribou. Learn more about your environment and share it with neighbors and friends. Pre-registration is required. Transportation will be provided with limited seating or bring your own vehicle. Participants will be eligible to win a $10 gas card and have their names entered into a drawing for a new set of binoculars at the end of the month.
