Caribou girls’ tennis team picks up opening win over John Bapst

BANGOR — The Caribou High School girls’ tennis team opened up their regular season with a 5-0 win over John Bapst in Bangor on Saturday.

 

Results of the matches were as follows:

Singles — Carlee Pinette defeated Kristen Krueger, 8-5; Ashley Richards defeated Kelsey Johns, 8-1; and Katie Keaton defeated Katie Ward, 8-3.

Doubles — Alexa Massey and Erin Patton defeated Rachel Seagal and Stephanie Parent, 8-0; Clara Collins and Emma Duplissie-Cyr defeated Kate Chen and Bethany Wanders, 8-4.

The boys’ team dropped a close contest to John Bapst, 3-2.

Results of those matches were:

Singles — Matt Dunning (JB) defeated Michael Marquis, 8-2; Tyler Willey (C) defeated Ryan Ding, 9-7; and Lucien Caverhill (C) defeated Jea Jeong, 8-5.

Doubles — Josiah Simko and Mike Dunning (JB) defeated Zachery Gorence and Cameron Hill, 9-8 (7-4); Kwins Yang and Brendan Hall (JB) defeated Dustin Coty and Dylan Coty, 8-4

Caribou tennis is back in action on Thursday at home against Presque Isle at 3:30 p.m.
